I love orchestras. I listen to them all day, all night, all year....

My favourite genre is epic action, just like the SSL2's music.

Any of you like orchestras? Feel free to share them here :)

Ah, my off-the-field specialty: Music. Thank you for making this thread, this is awesome. :)
By name, I don't have a favorite orchestra. They all do their jobs and do them well, so it is somewhat hard to distinguish one from another in that sense. The New Work Philharmonic and the Boston Pops are both excellent at what they do, as well as many other orchestras around the world.
Now, I do have some personal favorite composers. I'll add some songs I like from them next to their names.

J.S. Bach- Toccata and Fugue in D-minor is just another good classic. Don't hurt me. ._. Also, although this has nothing to do with the physical song, the graphics make it even more awesome.
John Williams- Imperial March and Hedwig's Theme, just to list a few. The thing that made Williams so special was ability to modify his own melodies to make them sound different. In particular, I will refer to 1:04 to 1:38 in Imperial March. He almost remixes his own song within his original song. Other composers have attempted it, but with limited success. For Star Wars, it just worked. A similar thing happens in Hedwig's Theme, but it is far more subtle. Also, his use of chord progressions and wild harmonies to make songs work is still unparalleled in modern times.
Andrew Gold- Spooky Scary Skeletons is by far his best song in a career shortened by heart failure. While he didn't really compose anything outstanding, he did have a few gems. This song caught the wave on Tumblr, and is still riding it today. Worth a listen to.
Randy Newman- Friends on the Other Side is something else. Usually, he remixes a simply melody over and OvEr and oVER and OVERRRR again. Compare "You Got a Friend in Me" and "Short People". Yeahhhhhhh... Anyways, this song works very well in this movie which, overall, wasn't really liked. It was just confusing to most. This song, though, really puts you in the movie (for the time being, anyways). It is just a great song with stunning 2D animation. In its last years, this was among 2D's greatest moments.
I will post others when I'm more awake. lol

I always liked that album, as well as "Unstoppable" a single.

Also... Two Steps From Hell... how could I forget about them

United We Stand, Dragon Rider, Invincible, Skyworld... and this perfection:

    The drop. THE DROP.
