Are you being kicked by the host or are you suddenly transported to the main menu mid-game? If the former, they may have been saving a spot for a friend, you may have annoyed or offended the people in the room in some way, the host was a troll and kicked you to be mean, or they just don't know they can set a level difference in their game so they kick people not close enough to their level. If the latter, apparently the servers have been acting funny due to the recent spike of new players. Quite a few people have been having connection problems, including myself.

I had the same issue, like 4 games in a row. And no, the host didnt kick me mid game because it was all friends and we were on teamspeak together. This is kinda anoying^^

I have to bump this, but for a good reason.
The other case aside, if the host wants to "keep a spot" for one of his/hers friends, why didn't they set the match on invite-only until the friends joined, and then set the game to public for their (not specifically choosed) opponents to get in? Or if both sides know each other, just keep the game on invite only... ?
It's a foul by the host to kick people because they are waiting for someone different.
No opinions? I'm DISGUSTED by that kind of hosts that don't have the brains to do the method I mentioned.
Again, sorry for reviving this. Just felt that my message fits here.
ALSO, I just remarked that this is about the STEAM version. I'm talking universally (the browser game has the same moral principles, ain't it?). Have a nice deah! ;)

You may have joined a few seconds after the host created the game and they were still adjusting settings. To be fair, the least they could do was be courteous and say "Sorry, friends only!". I hate getting kicked too, which is why most of the time I set up my own game and I can do the kicking ^^

When host games, I tend to kick low lvls. Cause they either disconnect or rage quit.

Then set a lvl difference, don't kick them.
