Remember how you can test out the game as a guest in SSL1? I suggest we implement that feature in SSL2. Some people just turn away because they have to go through the 'hassle' of making an account. And, it lets people test out the game instead of just regretting making an account. Whaddya guys think?
why would anyone regret making an account its not that hard ?? in my opinion playing with an account much better than being a guest
But they can test the game first, then make an account. Why would they make an account for something they never experienced before? Guest accounts lets theme experience it before hand.
Well... how about an account that was good for only 1 week or so? I remember many times in SSL1 where Guests trolled to no end. That, or some kind of management system.
Well I think it might be nice to have guests in SSL2, but I don't think it should be high on kChamp's priorities.
Okay, how about this system: To try out the game, you can make a disposable account that only requires a username to sign up. This account lasts 24 hours. If the user decides it's worth it to make an account, they can link their email to the account and set a password. When playing, their name will be prefixed with "G-", so somebody with a disposable guest account would show up as "G-Towel", for example. And of course there would be an option to block guests from joining your game.
maybe guests would be able to have the weapon packs (just for the time they are guests) to try them out and make sure they want to continue playing the game. ?? they wouldnt earn weapon xp for them but it would be a good part to add if they are going to try the game. so 24 hours of 170 weps.
No, not a good idea. Then sucky people would make guest accounts just to be able to use those weapons. I think it would be good enough for them to be able to use all the weapons in the firing range.
Do you have any idea how many internet activities I have passed on because I had to create an account? Part of the reason is because it can be difficult at times, and often I don't know how difficult until I finish filling out the information. For example, when I created a SSL2 forum account, every day for a week I had to request that the confirmation notice be resent before I finally received a confirmation notice in my email. Just letting a potential new member go to the Firing Range without creating an account would be a huge improvement. And this could encourage Kyle to improve the Firing Range. For example, Kyle might add crates, especially hovering crates, to the Firing Range. If a player gets a weapon in a Firing Range crate they could practice with it for the rest of the session. Shooting at crates is part of the fun of the game, and being able to do so as a Firing Range guest could encourage the player to create and account. Another possibility is Ghost gaming. I initially thought of this as an alternative to Mini-Games for dead players. The idea is to let dead players continue to play as ghosts. They wouldn't get XP, and their weapons would do no actual damage, either to tanks or terrain, and the game would not wait for them to make their shot, but they could practice and it would be better than the firing range. Perhaps guests could join a game as Ghost Players even without creating an account. Ghost Players could be completely invisible to the live players.
I don't think guest accounts should be a high priority for kChamp, but if he is out of ideas it would help out a small amount of people. I really think that all the weapons should be unlocked in the firing range so that people can try out weapons before they buy them.
I honestly rather not have guest in the actual game playing with others due to past experiences with them constantly team killing then leaving the game. Then the factor of how the lvl limit seems to be dysfunctional since it allows people to come into the room through quick join no matter what the lvl limit is. But i wouldn't mind people new to ssl2 to be able to use the firing range instead.
I would not support the feature of having guests in the game even if they are run by Towel's System (Which I'm not saying is bad) just for the simple fact that it would open up an opportunity for endless trolling. If run by Towel's Guest System, people could still just make multiple 24-hour accounts and just troll their team.
Well honestly then I think almost every single room would be Guest-Proof, and that would take away the whole point of the Guest System.
Most people actually prefer to do 1 vs 1 with a noob, just saying...And about 1/3-1/2 of the rooms in SSL1 (before SSL2 came out), were guest free.
well first people will be trying hacks with guest accounts and second maybe kchamp should put the option for level 1 persons to desactivate account via email and they confirm it ?
what ceron? the second part makes no sense... but i guess the first part is a good point.... -_-. i think theres a strict cheat block on ssl2 though. haven't seen many hackers like ssl1
