I am curious as to why the teams are picked at complete random. Personally it does not annoy me, but I know lots of people that are irritated when the other team is stacked with 3 level 50's and their stuck with some level 1's. It would be incredibly easy for kChamp to program the game to make the teams even, so I think that would be a great improvement. Although, I know the teams always more or less even, might get a bit boring, so perhaps there could be an option when you are creating a game weather the teams will random or divided evenly.
Yes, but people should not have to go through all the trouble of trying to make the teams fair every game. Since not many people use the team 1 and 2 feature, I believe it would be better for teams to automatically be set fair at the start of a match.
3 functions - As even as possible (This suggestions) - Completely random (like how it already is) - Manual (Teams already set by players) does that seem about right?
I have tried this several times since passing level 25, but typically the level 1-3 players didn't get it and the players in their upper teens would try to pair with me. One thing I don't get is players choosing a team in 1v1.
http://shellshockliveforums.com/index.php?threads/match-ranking.112/ Different idea, but a good one anyways.
That shows the general ranks of the players in the room. It's a decent idea, but this one is different.
So, the game would basically do something like this: Player 1: Lvl 34 Player 2: Lvl 45 Player 3: Lvl 12 Player 4: Lvl 7 Player 5: Lvl 23 Player 6: Lvl 29 The game would add up the player's levels to get a total, for example: 34+45+12+7+23+29= 150 The game would divide that total by two, since there are only two teams. The result would be 75 levels per team, so the game would try to add/combine the teams to get as close as possible to 75 for each team. So: Team 1 would consist of Players 1, 3, and 6 for a total of 75, and Team 2 would be Players 2, 4, and 5 for a total of 75 also. The numbers probably wouldn't work that well in the game, so perfectly matched teams would be rare.
Well the point is not to make them perfectly matched. I mean skill of people is not all based on level. The point would be to make it more even. The coding would be incredibly easy like what you showed above.
So something similar to that, but instead of being fully depended by that, it's 1/3 random and 2/3 that system?
No I think it would be best to get the teams as even as possible. I was just saying that it's nit always going to be possible for the levels to add up perfectly.
Heres an example. lvl 49 lvl 50 lvl 42 lvl 2 lvl 14 lvl 28 This is how it should go. Team 1: 49, 42, 2 Team 2: 50, 28, 14. Pretty even if I do say so.
id say team 1 has a slight advantage, but at least its better than 50, 49, 42; and 28, 14, 2 but for some reason the unfair way happens much more often
Maybe it shouldn't be like, perfectly even, but...you know what I'm saying? But if it were to be perfect, we may have to take the Xp in account for those level 50s and up.
Well, I would want to have to TO uneven, like, there's 4 lvl 50s, and a lvl 2 (I am 50 also.) so, who gets the 50? the 2 deluxe's. :3
im not sure i understood you if your talking about a case with five 50's and one 2, there's not much you do to make the teams fair, and taking into account the players xp and if hes deluxe or not is a bit much if you ask me, i mean if your gonna do that then you should also consider the wep packs the player has and the level of his weps...
You are right, I forgot about the wep packs. Well, the only solution for the lvl 2 is to kick him, or let the teams be chosen
