What's Your Favorite Supercar?

I've always had a fascination with blistering speed, ever since I was just a child. When I was just five years old I received my first game console, a Nintendo 64. With it came a game titled "World Driver Championship," which I later found out is actually considered the best racing game in the entire Nintendo 64 library. Unbeknownst to me, this one game would turn into an almost unhealthy obsession with the abnormally fast and the flamboyantly stylish supercars of the modern era.

I would have to say, when it comes down to a reasonable price, the Noble M600 is my favorite supercar of the modern era.




This car proves that Noble is right up there with Britain's finest manufacturers. With an uncomfirmed top speed of 225 mph (362 km/h) and confirmed top speed of 215 mph (346 km/h), the Noble M600 is powered by a twin-turbocharged Volvo V8 producing 650 bhp. It's actually so quick that the small shred of traction control that the car has barely helps at all with steering the car through wheelspin, because the entire car only weighs a total 1250 kg! With that weight, the car actually has a better power-to-weight ratio than a Bugatti Veyron. Yes, you read that correctly, but read it again for safe measure.

Ferrari 458 'cause it's awesome...

 

Exquisite. This right here has been a supercar standard for a long time, and while people hate on Ferrari like they do Porsche, there's no denying their footprint on the automobile industry, both with the 458 and the 911.

 

It may not be the fastest or most expensive, but it's my dream car ^.^ So sexyy....

I've never been a real big Aston Martin fan, but I will say that when they made the Vanquish, they definitely brought recognition to their product. It's sleek, it's stylish, and it's downright mean.

I have never thought of my dream car and while if I ever bought a car it would be non american because of reliability.
I choose this from a collection of cars I've found cool. Only one I can remember at the moment.

Now its not a super car but Buick 55's were some sweet looking cars for a classic.

 

Buick is one of those companies that was really great in the older days but is now mostly looked over. They built some great, great classic cars that will last throughout the ages. Plus, they have an awesome logo.

 

I agree thats why you'd only buy one of those for leisure. Rather get a reliable car like a Toyota.

 

Even though they aren't legal in America, would probably pick the koenigsegg One:1 even though yes, everyone loves the agera R for its ridiculous top speed, but I would rather have the One:1 the weight to horsepower ratio is 1:1, yes that's right 1:1, hence the name. Even though it might nt be as fast as the agera R, it still has a theoritical top speed of 248 mph, which is ridiculous XD
Also, it's not just a super car, it's usable for everyday things, it has a spacious trunk, it's comfortable, and it handles really well. And not to mention it looks awesome XD

EDIT: if I had to pick something to drive around America in, I would probably go with the Lamborghini Aventator

 

If you think the One:1 is ridiculous, you should take a look at the Hennessey Venom GT, which will be the world's fastest production car once 20 have been sold. It's power/weight is also 1:1 at 1244kg/1244hp and has a confirmed top speed (though still accelerating) of 270.49 mph. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport reaches 267 mph in 4 miles. The Venom GT? 270 in 2 miles.

And the best part? It's built here in America by Hennessey Performance, so you could drive it here.

Also, Hennessey are now looking to build their own production car (the Venom GT is technically a heavily-modified Lotus Exige) called the Venom F5, which has a theoretical top speed of 290 mph, and will be out sometime in 2016.

 

True, but the Hennessy Venom GT sacrifices everyday usability for speed and acceleration and what not I would have said the Hennessy but, it's kust not as functional as the one:1

 

I think you're completely missing the point of the Venom GT. There was no usability sacrificed, the car is exactly what it's supposed to be. It doesn't have all of those "driving aids" that make you out to be a better driver than you really are. It doesn't have a touchscreen interface with controls for climate control and satellite navigation. It doesn't spoil you with gizmos, gadgets, and technology that makes someone in a One:1 look like they have taste in automobiles.

The Venom GT was made for one reason and one reason only: To go fast. It forces you to actually be a driver and be able to make quick decisions to wrong errors without having the car to do it for you. It's a real million dollar race car, unlike the One:1.

But of course, you're young and I don't expect you to understand that. I too was like you at your age and thought if a car had more technology, it was automatically better. But when you get older and realize what performance is all about, you'll pick a McLaren F1 over a Veyron, and a Venom GT over a One:1.

 

BUGATTI VEYRON!!! top speed of 254.6 mph! Nothing is as fast as that, other than specially made cars to specifically go like 400 mph...

 

Perhaps you didn't read the thread but there are a handful of production cars now that are faster than the Veyron. It's not as great as everyone says it is, really. I mean it's a fantastic car, no doubt about it, but to make it the measuring stick of the industry is ludicrous!

Well I play Grand Theft Auto V so I pretty much like all the super cars there.

 

Have u guys heard about the Mercedes Benz biome? It's not he fastest, or the lightest, but it was apparently GROWN in a lab so...

 

Everyone talks about it, but the thing is, the acceleration is terrible! XD and its top speed is nowhere close to that of the venom gt, the handling is average, and it's really heavy, so the weight to horsepower ratio isn't that good it's about 1 horsepower for every 1.8 kilos, the venom gt and the koenigsegg one 1 both have ratios of about 1 to 1

 

Oh, that one looks disgusting to me.

Why would you judge a supercar just by its speed... who cares about "only speed"...

400 km/h are not even achievable in most of any race circuit, you a need too long straight to get that speed. And once you get it?
Shape-beauty, proportions, charme and, of course, power and speed are the criteria by which I'd judge a supercar.
