This is the most appropriate post that could hold my "Achievement Unlocked" post, because the other one was locked for some odd reason. Anyway, I went back to having one public document for Shellshock Live Achievements, that being here: Shellshock Live Steam Achievements The rest here is old stuff. X Welp, we as a fan base have been asking for achievements ever since SSL1, and we finally see a sneak preview of what they will be like recently. From this I have broadened the idea, and have a suggestion as to where they can go from here with different rewards... First I believe the achievements can be split into subcategories: PART 1: Subcategories Leveling Achievements: The typical achievements one gets from just playing the game and leveling up (ex. A Taste of Battle, Half Way There, Ultimate Commander achievements) and this would also hold prestige achievements. Combat Achievements: Achievements that one would earn casually while playing that usually consist of basic objectives (Double Damage, Power Packed, Over 1000 achievements). This is the most versatile category. Statistic Achievements: Achievements with progress bars, or just achievements that one would complete over time (Wielder, Choices, Hardware, Marathon, Winner Winner achievements). This category would contain the most casual achievements. Weapon Achievements: Different kind of achievements for each of the 200 weapons. Each weapon has a 'Marksman' achievement (Reach level 5 with it), a 'Finishing Move' achievement (Kill an enemy with it), and all unlocked weapons have specific 'Sharp Shooter' achievements (Specific objectives for selected weapons). Once all three is earned for a specific weapon, the person will unlock a special "Mastery" achievement for that weapon. This category by far has the most achievements. Purchased Achievements: No skill in these achievements, they purely show your dedication and support towards the game. This includes the Deal Hunter achievement. This category has the least amount. Secret Achievements: Achievements that show up as "???" before earned and usually require very specific requirements to earn. PART 2: Rewards Yeah, earning achievements and ultimately trying to collect them all is a great goal for a lot of people, but for some, they want a little more incentive. So after each achievement that is earned there should be a slight reward that is earned, a list of rewards could be either based on difficulty of achievement or just set individually for achievements. The rewards should be as follows: Beginner Achievements - that take absolutely no skill to earn and are primarily for beginners Small XP bonus: 10-15XP Easy Achievements - A little more than the beginner, these actually take time and slight skill Medium XP bonus: 20-30XP Moderate Achievements - Achievements that show time and effort is and will be put into the game 1 item: Jetpack, Supplies, Tracer, Shield or High XP bonus: 40-50 XP Difficult Achievements - Harder achievements that show skill and dedication is put into the game 1-2 tank coins or 1-2 items: Jetpack, Supplies, Tracers, Shields or Higher XP Bonus: 50-75 XP or 1 Tank Token Insane Achievements - Either secret, incredibly time consuming, or just very difficult in general, these are earned seldom but reward very well with a variety of rewards. 2-3 tank coins or 1 Tank Token or 1 Weapon Token or Awesome XP bonus: 75-100XP PART 3: Links and Wrap-up So with that, my formal presentation of the achievement system redux with ideas. I appreciate any support via likes, comments, and criticism. Thank you for your time and following are links of various things related. I have the documents separated to avoid scrolling through a gigantic mass of text document. The difficult achievement would be like the damages you deal on a single match or something like that I assume? It'd be totally useless and unfair to those who only have free weapons, the points made at the end of 30turns 1v1 by a Lv50 dude was 3000, by the paying people, it usualy goes around 4000-5000.
