Not looking to start any sort of flame war, just want to know a few honest opinions and wether or not you will be upgrading on the 29th?

    I'm already running the beta:

Start menu can be customized to look more 7-esque, although not sure why you'd want to do that :p The new MS browser is pretty awesome, and will be compatible with extensions like Chrome. (I opted for the dark theme fyi)

Cortana can really do whatever you ask it, aside from giving you news and tips. The Action center is where you can do quick actions and where your notifications show up and where you can reply or dismiss with a single tap.

These are just a few of the improvements. Tell me what you guys think.

I wish I had 10 inbox messages. Anyways I hope I'm able to upgrade, I got Windows 7 on my computer for free as a college benefit so I don't know if I could get the free upgrade. (It is a legit copy of windows)

Looks new and waiting to be discovered ...I'm unsure if I like it but its pretty cool.
I have grown used to this Windows 10 layout already but eh hate how my app bar has no real use ... I use desktop anyways.
I definitely will try it, those features you mentioned look nice.

My question is "Will it work smoothly on laptops over say your Surface Pro 3?" I ask cause it seems for a tablet setup like that it would be off the hook. No idea what your standard laptop would get out of it.
More confusion or just something you grow familiar with in time?

(Did I present logical questions cause its late at night, I gotta get up at 6 am and it was a long day so I'm unaware if I'm thinking logically.)

Ok good. Based on Microsoft's logic (every other OS system is good) this should be a good one to have. :)

    go to sleep child,

but yea, everything is a lot more desktop optimized, apps no longer run full screen and you can move them around and close them like regular programs. There's not much of a learning curve despite being used to Cortana and the new type of Apps.

That is nice cause some games like SSL don't really work in windowed mode, having you resort to ... well in my case ... hit Ctrl + Alt + delete to bring up task manager to have it so I can switch back and forth from say a program like spotify and the game. If I don't my game is lost from my task bar till I bring up the task manager. :p So thats coolio. Aside from that, I've noticed any important app aside from steam runs on my phone so in terms of apps not much I'd use/need it for that. I do like the ease of opening and closing more freely/faster. Sure I'll find uses, plus you can always switch back.

All apps are windowed with no charms or "swipe up" needed (notice the new Settings app)

Oh that, you can't change that Google because that's just how full screen games run on steam, Holy there has the best solution to that issue.

Looks pretty damn sleek. Would fit very well with the forum's Nickel style.

I'll stick with windows 7... nothing agaisnt a better and more developed GUI but usually this comes with a greater usage of memory to run the interface... memory that i can't spare

When i buy a better pc who knows ;)

I have the beta on another pc aside from my main... It seemed too faulty and bug prone for my main pc. Anyway...

I haven't taken the time to read the posts in this thread so I might not be the first to say this, but am I the only who received some sort of invitation to reserve Win 10 for free? which appeared as a second windows logo on your task bar ._. It showed up a month or so ago and ye i reserved it, it even gave me the update about the July 28th release. either way, seems legit, 120something value = free.

I ask this knowing it is possible everyone knows... for I am not in sync with the current news of such and what not... too busy... free=good.

That is exactly what happened to me. Although I heard about this a year ago when Kate made a thread about it, I didn't do anything regarding it till that notification came up.
