    As the first SSLS tournament comes to a close, I'd like to start a collection of competitions myself. This first series, the Atlas Series, will be open to anyone who owns SSLS, even if the player does not have a forum account.    ​

    RULES/REGULATIONS
    1. Must participate in at least one match per week.
    2. Game mode must be Points Match with 30 turns.
    3. Map must be agreed on, otherwise choose random.
    4. Shot tracer and items must both be off.
    5. Match-ups will be best out of 3.
    6. No substitutions.
    7. Both players must report a score.
    8. Weapon level selection must be off.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
    1. 16 participants.
    2. Round Robin-Elimination hybrid (layout below).
    3. Prizes will be distributed for placement in the top 3 seats.
    4. To signup, post your Steam profile link below.

    Just for your info: In this type of tourney... the players that ended in 1st position of groups get the advantage of fight the 2nd placed ones from another group (cause in theory they would be weaker for being at 2nd) ;)

    True... I'll probably randomize the seating for each player at that point though, so I'll make another note up top to clear that up.

    Though this post may surprise people because I've been gone awhile, I will enter this tournament. The setup is fantastic, and you accurately showed the format. The only issue is getting 16 people.

    Thanks for this, I didn't have this pointed out at all. You'll be able to see that in the rules/regulations section I added that weapon levels will not be chosen.

    Welp, looks like this one is turning out to be a pretty good tournament idea with the contributions of our members :) I will gladly postpone the official one for something new. I will likely join this one once we have a good amount of members participating.

    Might be usefull to have a signup list for convenience. I am glad to help with running it or with anything else as well!

    Question: You mentioned rewards, I assume they will be in the form of steam games?

    Not quite yet...but hopefully when the tournaments get larger prizes will have some monetary value. Right now I just plan to send some 1st/2nd/3rd place badges to the winners.

    And this is ecxatly why i'll wont participate in any of those unoficial made up tourneys :confused: i'll wait for when kyle put them in game cause i'd rather not play a luck tournament... had enough with ssl2 :p

    I really did want to wait too... but I initiated the tournament movement again because ssls was frankly beginning to slowly become less and less active.... We needed some sort of activity to keep it fun. Especially with the recent steam sale with all the new games we bought at great prices... hell I'm still playing the games that I bought. We play SSL less because of that and other reasons. I hope this sparks something :\.

    I think i expressed myself badly... i understand why you guys started the tourneys and i support the idea. I don't agree that they'll bring people back to activity... but at least it keeps who's sorta active busy... and that's a very good thing!

    What i tried to say is why I am not participating in these tourneys lately (for the reasons i posted in my previous comment). I dont discourage anyone to sign in... on the opposite i think its good to find something to have fun with while we patiently wait for the update :p

    I wish people would join this one. I mean it actually is hosted by another user and has a prize, whats there to lose?
    Looks like fun to me and we are playing for fun anyways so why not.

    I waited in decs tournament thread, but nobody tryed to add pm or post for meh =0.... lvl 75 = lvl 100 atm btw.

    Its a shame this can never get started.
    I suppose some things factor into this such as tourneys before this being not fun and just lacking meaningful purpose. Other than its hosted by a different user than times previously/features a different setup, there isn't a huge reason someone would spend time being in one for bragging rights.
