Will the game be reseted when going out of Early Access?

I'm wondering that..

On one hand, it would be unfair if a lot of people ented the game in some kind of sale on the out-of-alfa moment and find a lot of people highleveled already, but on the other it is fair to keep the suffered lol..

 

I highly doubt this. If kChamp did this, anyone who put 400 hours into the game to get up that high would be infuriated. I wouldn't think he would want to do that to his best supporters. If that happens, I'd drop out of Steam.
Also, I don't think kChamp has a button which would reset everything. At least I don't think he would.

 

Lol kChamp can delete everything in 1 second as any admin of any game lol.. it's just data, probably on some database, to delete it all is one second

 

well in this case i think it's a matter of won't than can't i'm sure he can but it would be very time consuming. Also the moment that we get out of early access we are going to "cash in" our accounts so it would not make a big difference either way

 

Very unlikely. That's like saying you have to start over the levels each time an update is out.

 

It would put me off the game for good, I don't think I could ever play it again and it would be extremely cruel and manipulative of him seeing as he hasn't told us he would and that people have poured hundreds of hundreds of hours into the game, all the game's closest supporters would either stop playing for good or just remain extremely angry at kyle

Yes, it would be cruel.. but won't it be rare the day you make the game official, presumably in some steam sale (to get a big influx of people hehe), to find a ton of low levels news to the game and a lot of lv60-100s?

 

Just a quick idea. If a level gap is big enough, players could be given an option to handicap themselves/ and leave the other player normal so it can be more fair for the lower level player. Weaker weapons or whatever. Maybe not less hp because the other player gets less xp which kind of defeats the purpose. Handicaps could give a small xp bonus but not much so it's not abused. When it comes to more than 2 player games it'll be more complicated I guess. Just throwing out another idea

 

Reset your stats, and don't put anything into them.

 

But double weapon xp and 2xp for a limited amount would start another grind era. Besides I probably wouldn't play much anymore than before if and even double Wxp and 2xp was limited after reset.


Another way is to create two lobbies. One is for high level players and another one is for low level players. Also call of duty black ops 3 beta is out. We could see what they would do when official release comes out.


The latest update with the fancy animation of numbers of damage dealt raise the probably of attracting new players. A game pricing about 7$ is starting to be worth of what you should pay. @kChamp could add these minor updates but should also add major updates between the streaks of minor updates.

Usually a beta comes out couple months before the official release to prevent much grinding in the beta and unfortunately it didn't.

 

This won't happen in any faucet but I like how this thread will get a lot of attention by a few for a while with various ideas.

But the problem is that it depends how this game goes live.

If it just suddently becomes live, people will come in slowwly and if people is highlevel, the game is DOA.

If it starts with something like a free or -75% discount weekend or some shit like that on the front steam page that attracts loads of ppl (it has to be real good), a lot of people will join and there may be enough low level population to play normally between them. Remember that this is steam, a free or high discount weekend can bring hundreds of players suddently into the game.

If it starts in some epic discount and daily deal/such in some steam sales (put winter steam sales on this case), it doesn't matter at all, because there will be a fuckload of new ppl. In fact we the actual players will be the minority lol. Steam is another world, if kChamp sells this well he can get a lot of players and cash into the game veery fast lol. (And imho selling this well is no less than 50% on some daily deal on steam sales haha)

 

i think itd be best if there was a cool cosmetic thing youd get if you reset your account, that would only be available for people with early access

 

We've already gone through the Summer Sale, and those are the new people who have left/are complaining about it being unfair. I can't really blame them. At this current state, sales wouldn't help the population of the game in the longrun. In addition, this game gets no advertising, so unless someone learned about it from one of us, it won't get too much attention.

 

No, this game hasn't been featured on the Summer Sale and neither went out of Early Access state, nothing to do compared to to appearing "out of early access!!!!" in a daily day on the steam sales. We could be talking about thousands of new players lol..

 

Thousands of new players... if they find it interesting. To most, this would just look like Scortched Earth revived. They might not even know it's a series. And, in the discussions in the community hub, you will see at least 5 of these discussions, maybe per page. People obviously think this is a more advanced ripoff of Scortched Earth.
Remember, we are looking at a lot of people with varying interests, not us here, who all seem to like at least one game in this series. We gotta put our feet in their shoes.

 

Normally games like that go under beta like that, aren't up for very long. So normally you lose your rank and start over. Here it's literally months of gameplay that you would be resetting which would be cruel. Even if you were to add compensation that wasn't cosmetic, that would still create the gap again. Giving double xp to everybody or even the lower end folks for a certain amount of time would help them catch up big time. Remember the time it would take for a lvl 80+ to go up 1 level a lvl 1 can easily jump through in no time. A huge influx of members would also work as the population is just small right now. It's a delicate and tricky situation.

 

We are talking about Steam Sales. If this appears in front page, with -50% or more at max 3-4$, most people will just look the trailer (that looks very good but could sell a lot more imho) and buy it if they like. There will be always people saying this is a ripoff or another tank game, like on the days people said that Doom and Quake were ripoffs of Return to Castle Wolfestein

The important thing is that this must appear with a big appeal and a good discount.

 

It did starting price was 15$ and it cut down to 50% off

No. That was a prize change (suggested by the community btw), not a discount. A discount in the steam sales is a sudden big (-33%, -50%, -75% or even more) from the normal prize, which now is 6,99€ .
