Rare loot and the Market.

*For this to work, it would have to tie into my Tank Ticket idea*

-RARE LOOT-

Rare loot will be a little something extra to add more variety to the game. It will be rarely found in crates, and will be sent to some sort of inventory in your profile. From there it can be sold for Tank Tickets to willing buyers.

What loot is there to find?

Rare, powerful weapons unavailable from weapon packs, leveling up, or prestiging.
Hats to pimp out your tank
Rare tanks unavailable from the store, deluxe, or leveling up
Themes with the ability to force a theme on your room
Rims (not silver or gold)​

Find rates of loot:
Tier 1: 0.4% (1/250) - ~45 dmg weapons, themes
Tier 2: 0.2% (1/500) - ~60 dmg weapons, themes
Tier 3: 0.1% (1/1,000) - ~80 dmg weapons, themes, tanks
Tier 4: 0.04% (1/2,500) - ~100 dmg weapons, tanks, hats
Tier 5: 0.02% (1/5,000) - ~120 dmg weapons, tanks, hats
Tier 6: 0.01% (1/10,000) - ~150 dmg weapons, hats, rims
Normal crap: 99.23% (9,923/10,000) - single use weapons, armor, points, tank tickets, items, tank coins

Tanks, themes, and hats look progressively more awesome as they increase in rarity.
Each item received from a crate counts for one roll for a rare item. That means a crate with 3 items in it has 3 chances to get a rare item.

-THE MARKET-​

The market will be completely community run. Rather than automatically selling an item for a set amount of tank tickets and letting it be consumed by the server, you will type in what you think is a fair price in Tank Tickets and wait for somebody to buy it on the market.

The home page of the market will show the most popular items and the lowest price they are going for, and you will be able to scroll down to see additional listings. There might be multiple people selling the weapon "Super Storm", but the price displayed for that item would be the lowest somebody is selling it for.

When an item of yours is sold, the tickets that person has paid for your item will go directly into your account and you will be notified.

To prevent inflation in the market, there will be a 10% fee for selling. That means if you sell an item for 1,000 Tank Tickets, you will only get 900 from the sale.

Thank you lad, this could give a whole new side to SSL2. People love trading in games for some reason, like in Team Fortress 2.

ss2 has to take in money to pay for servers, kchamp probably wont want to overcomplicate things... though itd obviously be very nice if it worked ^^

 

If you looked at my Tank Ticket thread, you can trade Tank Coins in for Tank Tickets, so that you can pay money to accelerate your savings toward items you want, so kChamp will profit from this too, and everybody's happy.

 

Yeah, but it would require modifications to several systems... The generator for items in crates, and the whole shop system to name a couple.

 

Yeah, the suggestion isn't exactly how I would expect it to work, it does deserve some tweaking, but once it's done it would be absolutely amazing.

Big bump. Completely revised this suggestion, would like feedback.

 

Towel all your ideas are awesome and you could literally rebuild this game many times over with all the ideas you've posted.
Anybody else is like:

 

Towel, even though your ideas are awesome I am kind of annoyed seeing a bunch of revived dead 1 year wtf threads.
But dude, why bother putting so much detail if it rarely occurs?

 

It's an old idea of mine that was originally not as well executed and presented. Plus there's an entire new audience here from when the idea was originally posted. Also 2 threads = a bunch? :/

With the number of people playing, the game will quickly fill up with these rare items and the market would become quite active in short time. Making this stuff common would give no real value to these items.
