Customizable Weapons

    So, I thought that it would be cool to have a personal, customizable weapon that's almost exclusive to any specific player.
    There are MANY customization options, as below:

    Damage: This will be determined by the number of upgrade points you invest in it, to avoid overpowered weapons. This may also be affected by # of bounces, explosion size, and # of fragments upon detonation.

    Blast Radius:
    This may be determined by the number of upgrade points that you invest in it, to avoid weapons that hit half the map. Blast Radius may also be affected by # of fragments.

    Fragments:
    This is customizable to a certain point, after which you will be required to spend upgrade points.
    You can choose from 1-10 fragments, or to have fragmentation disabled. The number of fragments may affect individual explosion damage.
    You can also choose to have shells drop from the main shot, like Magic Shower or Seagull.
    Damage with these types of drop-weapons will be significantly reduced at short range to avoid another Seagull weapon with 350+ damage.

    Projectile amount:
    May be 1-50. Will affect damage per explosion/projectile. More projectiles = less damage per projectile. If there are fragments, how many projectiles will be spawned from each fragment?

    Projectile Behavior:
    Will the shot be able to burrow underground? Will it bounce before exploding? If so, How many times? Will be slightly affected by gravity, like Asteroids, or not at all, like Lightstrike?
    Will the projectile explode mid-air, after impact, or on impact? Will it move in mid-air, like Wobbler or Corkscrew? Will it have a radial homing effect, like Proximity shot?(This would be affected by upgrade points, with a small maximum effective distance).
    Would it home after hitting the ground, like Bounder, Or would it stop over enemies in mid-air, like Dead-Weight? Will the shot linger after impact, like Napalm?

    Projectile Spread:
    Will it be in an arc, like almost all weapons? Will it be in a clean line, like Stream, a curved shot, like Blaze and Creek, or along a rough line, like Rapidfire or Shotgun?
    Also, will it be fired like a bullet or be fired as a flare?

    Detonation Effects: How the shot explodes.
    Will it be in a burst pattern, like Area Strike and the Sparkler family?
    Will it be a fountain, like...well...Fountain?
    Will it be like Fireworks, with fragments spawning out of the ground and exploding mid-air?
    Will it split in mid-air, or break upon impact, like Splitter and Breaker?
    (suggest more abilities\properties below)

    Shot Color, Trail Color, and Fragment color:
    Self-explanatory. You can modify the color of various parts of your shot. You would have access to a color mixer which would allow for almost endless combinations.

    Suggest more ideas below if you like.
    I'd like to add ideas until you can get a black shot that's unaffected by gravity, splits into 2 fragments upon impact, and turns into fountains of fire. All without being OP, of course.

    what if we want a weapon like instant replay? i don't see anything like that in there

    That would be Projectile Behavior and/or Fragments. Maybe including Detonation Effects.

    oh... well, i want a slammer+dead weight combo :3 of course, the damage would have to be really low, right?


    EDIT:
    if we can have that, would the damage have to be low on mine?

    It depends on your definition of "low", as you are, indeed, considering your name, a what you may call, "noob". ;)

    Probably. It's all about balance. The system of upgrade points helps to limit the power of weapons, to avoid OP weapons.
    My guess for something like that would be about 60 or so damage.
    Sadly, custom weapons will not have levels like regular weapons. Otherwise, Kyle would have to work out the damage increase amounts for literally hundreds of new combinations of weapons.

    Ok then, Custom weps would have levels. What I meant was that there could be thousands of combinations of weapons, each with a different power level. Also, each characteristic or ability of a weapon would affect the overall damage of the weapon.

    Also there should be how fast the weapon goes, like laser.

    i thinked in a weapon called condiments: salt and pepper but with 2 more arrays, curry: that it would be like a splitter for each proyectile
    and hearth: its a slammer but it splits in the air in 2 red and pink proyectiles that makes a hearth
    i have more ideas if u want it

    nothing wrong with op weps ur gonna need em too keep up with the ones already op, id like to think of customized weps as more of ur signature wep which may be your most powerful wep in the game, otherwise its not really gonna stand out as anything special aside from the fact that it looks diff... just a thought...

    Making the person's weapons(like 10 of their weapons) into a weapon pack would be cool to buy. It could also come with a free trial before you buy it. This way you won't regret buying it. This would also be more fun and time saving for kChamp because other people are creating the weapons, not him. This way he can do more important things like game options, but at the same time, we still get the opportunity to have fun making weapons and trying them. But he still has to make a bigger weapon pack screen, or a pop-up screen to choose the weapon packs from.

    Other option - if you're good at scripting, you can do it the advanced way and script out and start from scratch.

    #2: If you want to edit onto from a weapon, for example, needler, you can change the amount of bullets that shoot out, etc. So, you choose needler, then all the regular settings for that weapon can get edited. :D

    What I thought when you said: Customizable, is the colour. You can choose your own colour for every weapon.. For example: Make creek red so it looks like blaze to confuse people.. Or make a fountain Green to make it a toxic-waste bomb..

    Reminds me of Oblivion where you can make your own spells.

    Good idea, I bet it would keep more people playing the game. Kchamp should look at this suggestions.
