Penalties Regarding Players That Leave Mid-Game/Other

    As the title states, I and most likely a lot more other people will agree and disagree with this, and it is rightly so a problem and also an annoyance when people leave mid-game due to losing, or about to lose. I've seen it so very many times and one time i actually did leave, only because i died on the very first round of a very large game. Anyways, I think there needs to be some sort of penalty that will discourage leaving a game when you still have Health Points remaining. It does affect the people aiming to destroy that players tank, because it takes away from that player getting XP for the weapon fired. It's also a problem during gamemodes such as juggernaut or even team based matches, when a teammate leaves, it makes things that much more unlikely for that players team to have a chance of winning. I don't know what kind of penalty, people say they already get a penalty of not getting XP when leaving a match, but I dont believe that to be true since when I had left that one time I had received XP even after having left the match. All I'm asking is some kind of Penalty System for players who leave as the match starts, during the middle of a match, or as they're about to be destroyed. It has happened in games I played multiple times, and it is very annoying, and ruins my and other players fun.

    And since I'm here, was talking to someone recently saying how being able to place bounties with gears of your own on players, and the amount you set comes from your own pocket (so as to not be able to exploit it and get more gears for oneself) would be a neat idea to try out. I and the player I was talking with also agrees it would be a cool addition.

    Might be worth looking into, as long as players who get disconnected do not suffer any kind of penalty. Quite a few of these sudden quits are due to DC.

    Also, in team mode instead of the tank exploding after someone quits, it should be able to be used as a sub, just like in SSL2.

    The sudden quits im talking about are the ones when the enemy is about to die, and leaves just after the last guy locks in or before the guys next turn, same for tournaments, happens all the time, im about to win and the other guy has around 40+/- hp and leaves, because they know theyre going to lose. Maybe a scoreboard showing peoples ping would be helpful, and of course penalties shouldnt apply to DC's. Regarding the tank exploding when someone quits as long as they still have hp sure, but using it as a sub might not work so well. It'd have to be an AI controlled tank so that a high level cant just throw his life away and convienently "respawn" as the other. It'd be an AI controlled tank that would be the same level as the previous player (the one that left). Of course the aiming would have to be decent enough relative to that level tank. And possibly retain the same weapons the user had. Just so it doesnt completely inconvenience the team at least. Of course it wouldn't make it so they have the upper hand either with an AI controlled tank that has aimbot.

    I know what you mean about sudden quits. The problem is to acknowledge who actually left and who got thrown out because server had a hiccup etc.

    Well yeah, but you can usually tell when someone actually leaves and isnt being dc'ed. But yeah I see where you're coming from.

    We live in 2017 now.....

    just AI them when they leave. We don't even need subs anymore tbh.

    Also in ssl2 it was a 10xp penalty, but I doubt it won't do much here. I would suggest giving a small penalty for first offense, and ramp up the penalties after subsequent offenses, (make them reset after a while or maybe a day)

    Or maybe regarding the penalties possibly banning them from joining a game for an hour or so. And if it keeps happening the time goes up. Of course there would probably have to be a message giving them a warning first, telling them if they do so another this many times, or even once more, itll be an X amount of time before you can play any multiplayer games.

    I would stop playing if I was to be put on a penalty for leaving a game mid-way through.

    I hope you would, its annoying when people leave mid-game while they still have hp left. I would say good riddance.

    What are your thoughts on when people lose connection mid way through. Happens to me all the time.

    If they get disconnected then why penalize them? The game should be able to tell the difference between someone clicking "Leave" and a "Disconnection". Besides I said when they, leave not when they get disconnected. And not many people get disconnected. Most of the time its because they miss a shot or they get put in a hole and rage quit. Just happened 5 minutes ago, on a game, used a desert on one guy and a quicksand on the other, he got mad and rage quit, then the other guy rage quit as well, leaving just one guy on their team. It really ruined the game for that guy and us.

    Well, I hate to be the bearer of the bad news, but it has been like this since ss1 and I dont think it will change anytime soon.

    I know better, Been playing for 3+ years. I just ignore it.
