I don't often air my feelings in here but now is the time. Of all silly stuff that has been done this is one of the silliest. Now every single lvl 10 is begging to let them win a lvl 100 just to get the damn god rays. There are people who played with dedication to get some of the other achievements just to see the requirements cut into a fraction. (admittedly it's sort of funny that some players got them by not so honest means and now their "effort" turned into shit) Oi vey.
I don't think anybody has realistically played 10,000 games yet.... let alone won 10,000 As for God Rays it's what the people wanted. Kyle doesn't come on enough and this was the people suggested be done instead so it's not even a bad thing.
I have the 10,000 wins but what's disappointing is that I spent wasted hours getting the Persistent Challenge. I can't tell if Kyle is just stupid with not making up his mind or if he just likes pissing people off.
I'm pretty sure it's both. It just seems like he's lowering everything once again to please newer players who are complaining about something being time consuming. We got put behind the financial aspect and got no reward but disappointment and regret as our reward for the time we wasted.
Well, players like you, me, Mallard, ahole, Tap and Sub may not have liked the grind before the leveling was tweaked 3 times but we stuck to our guns for what the game was back in the day and earned it the hard way. Now everything is handed to low levels on a silver platter. And what used to be good weps are now leaning towards being kindergarten play toys.
Some selfish comments here. His updates are all legit for the most part. The game is in early access so you should've been prepared for any sorts of changes to weapons, levels, game mechanics, etc. You can't complain really. I don't know why everyone is complaining. That challenge was bullshit and it took at least thousand hours to complete, which is an ABSURD amount of time. It doesn't matter how hard you all worked for it, if it's broken, it should be fixed. Once again, the game is in beta and changes like this should not be a surprise. Because no one wants to spend 500 hours to have fun. Now I can't say much bout the recent XP nerfs because I haven't seen then in-game but the previous ones were totally legit and made the game a lot better.
The transition kind of feels like a kick to the face for older players, but I think in the long run it improves the game. Yes, things that were once a grind to achieve are now handed out, but if you look past that from an objective standpoint, I think it's all for the best. That early adopters badge is looking awfully tasty about now, though...
I don't get why these weren't implemented year 1. It's quite obvious from the start Kyle caves when new people complain and his consumers that actually stay around get ignored continually. Usually when he's does dramatic changes like this to SSL it's been due to new people. If they were so hard and unfair, why weren't they changed way sooner? It makes no sense to believe this was always the plan but instead a last minute effort to keep sales increasing while he continues to do whatever he's doing by now. The game itself has been getting worse each update for quite a while. Can you imagine such things as the final weapon, tournaments, or goodness sake something complex like a clan meaning going well in the future with such a unorganized plan? I think most of us know what's coming and frankly aren't shocked anymore as stuff changes. We just know with bigger projects he has planned within the game, it will not go well simply by winging it. It he wants it to be at least decent that is. The finished product I'm sure will be disappointing as we move forward toward it as well. We are aware more will likely be changed which will further have us stretching our heads as we have for years although we've seen this coming since Kyle first pleaded that on Steam he was gonna go about things differently.
I must have played at least 4000 1v1 with randoms to get flintlock. Lets change all the challenges again to play 1 game of. Cant actually expect people to win games, that's elitist.
I think you're overreacting over an update that fixed challenges. They still take a really long time you know? He didn't do this day one because he never checks the forums and he didn't have player statistics to base the challenges on to see if the number is realistic or not. You can't expect all the 'major potentially gamebreaking' updates to be done within the first month because the game is in early access for a reason. Relax lol. The updates are fine, although Napalm change is a bit questionable since that was probably the only weapon now that can deal massive CQ damage but it's still effective up close. You're acting like he did a massive weapons overhaul and made everything do 40 damage.
Let's be honest. Those challenges were grindy as hell if anything. Even the persistent challenge was just die and retry the other 850 times after you completed every single mission. It didn't require a lot of "hard work" it just required a lot of time and that was just stupid. Even the dev destroyer achievement was near impossible for people to get because trying to catch Kyle coming on is really difficult and when you did face him getting god rays wasn't too hard to get then either. The way he has it set up now is even better than what was suggested because it still limits the weapon to be given out by a handful of people, and logically speaking if they have beaten kyle and you beat them, you could probably beat Kyle yourself so there is no need of going through the hassle of finding him to get a weapon. Those challenges were things people wanted to be changed for a while as long as bunch of other things and he just happened to have the time to change it now. Can we move on please.
I'm not mad, I'm just saying it would of been nice if he had a plan all along instead of always relying on the ever changing consumer to alter his game. It literally won't be long before people say the game has no challenge and it needs harder things to accomplish. That back and forth will endlessly continue so he might as well just pick one and stick to it.
I mean I wouldn't personally call hundreds of hours of grinding as a challenge. It's just artificial challenge if all you're doing is scale up the requirements for certain levels, weapons, etc. But in all honesty I think the XP for weapons and levels is perfectly fine right now and needs no significant altering.
to be honest the change of "dev destroyer" was needed, I remember that i got it by luck when average amount of Players was really low. It was almost impossible doing it before the new update. About weapons xp nerfs: they are fine now, yhea at the begining we all saw that as a "kyle loves new players" but now I realise it was needed. There are TONS of new weapons so maxing everything with the old weap xp system is just impossible since the amount of given weapons at the start of each game is the same
