It's neither useful or useless for me. Just a cool graphics effect. But yeah, we really don't need it. There is already a tracer item.
It's a setting to have them on or off, nobody's forcing you to use them. But yeah, what Tap Water said.
I say keep as its a good tool for the people completely new to ssl to help them learn the game, plus its not like its an intrusive update as you can disable it anytime in your rooms with a click of a button. Even though a lot of people may disagree with me just remember when the game is officially launched and marketed people like us will eventually become the minority compared to the more casual audiance that will play in the future.
