Has anyone run the numbers on how often or what the odds are of Chancer doing high damage?? Ive gotten it (from boxes) maybe 20 times... and gotten "big" damage prob. twice.

Ok, from 15 degrees, I would say about 50% to 45% chance of a massive explosion. From close up, probably about less then 2%, Mid range is probably about 25% because thats soso

Luck doesn't affect Chancer and how it hits; it affects what you get in boxes.

There is no exact percentage of the chance of getting more damage, but something similar to what paul1999 said above.

dumb question what do you mean by degrees? surely not the angle of the shot

He means that if you arc a shot from angle 90 + 15 degrees = 105 or 75 angle. So at that distance, the weapons have a greater likelihood of getting more damage. Ever notice how sometimes Tsunami will do 3 damage on a DM game, and sometimes 4 damage each hit? It's because at a certain distance it amplifies the amount of damage.

Not 100% sure that it's the same with Chancer, but there seems to be a greater percentage of a chance of more damage at further distances..

yep, you're completely right. I had the wep for quite a while on a different account, and it was definitely amplified by the amount of degrees used in the shot.. The farther you are, the higher of a chance you have for an explosion that gets up to I think 156 damage

Definitely not only the items. I can say I've had many boxes dropping near me or in my turn, etc.

There are few other threads about this subject so you might wanna check it. Too tired to explain.

This would all be really easy to find out for someone with the weapon. Just go to the firing range and shoot it 50 times each at various distances.

This will tell you probably within about 5% what the chance is, and if it varies with distance :)

Though.... someone claimed to have tested it here:
    http://www.shellshockliveforums.com...-the-best-shots-with-chancer.1011/#post-26700

And they have a big google docs list saying the damages for things.
