I just finished reading / commenting on @KingKyd latest thread about "Item Tokens" And as Im playing I had an idea of my own... (hopefully it hasnt been addressed yet) A new item... Fuel Tanks (Fuel Canisters) !! each tank would refill your fuel gauge by say 25 (so not a full refill -- just a tiny bit) but enough.. I cant tell you how many times Ive missed a box by the smallest of margins. I know that there will be some criticism about how this will act as a defacto upgrade to fuel.. but since its not a permanent boost (and I can imagine they will be used frequently and every player will have use of them... its a zero sum game (no player can really gain a significant advantage) I welcome your comments
I think lopy has a point that there are already Jetpacks which are used mostly to get an extra distance, and not out of holes, though that is an extra perk to them. Because of this, having fuel canisters as a suggestion for a new item is rendered borderline useless. But, don't think I'm just trying to shoot you down here. What would make more sense is to have it be an object that can be picked up on the battlefield. It drops much like crates do, in random spots, and can be obtained by simply driving into it. It's random but it can make for some interesting moments where a person needs to reach a crate and due to the luck of a fuel canister dropping near them, they can now grab it. Also, 50 fuel would probably be more appropriate. Still not that far, but 25, like RMM said above, isn't much distance at all. Good idea, though. I like it. Adds more depth and challenge to the game. Also, I made a few potential icons that could be used for it for fun.
In my original post I said 50... but I changed it to 25 Its the concept more than the specific number offered
I support this idea. If Points and Armor can be collected in boxes, what harm will Fuel Canisters bring? Also I believe it should be 5/10/15/20/25% Fuel boosts. Not 50 Fuel.
This ^ If we can have Kyle making up more types of items enabled then we should make a totally different item that has no relations/similarities to other items. Jetpack is already doing his work fine.
Perhaps a Weapon Swap item. Only works in team games, though. Allows you to swap up to three weapons with one of your teammates. This could be used if you have a teammate that doesn't know how to shoot something very well or simply just doesn't have a clear shot. The item isn't used until the teammate accepts the swap and the swap is completed. If they decline the swap, the item remains in your inventory. Not trying to derail the thread here, just throwing that one out there for anyone reading because I think starting a new thread just to post that is just trying to grab attention.
Great idea, though we may have to face an overpowered Kyd. With 3 FireStorms, 2 Tsunamis, 4 MegaNukes, 5 Pyrotechnics, 3 Excavations and 4 Pythons. Hah, no chance of victory now... Anyway, on the bright side it can be a life-saver if the newbie is unfamiliar with a weapon. Just take it and fire on his behalf. Kyd: Yo newbie, hand over that Needler and take my Shot. Or I'll beat you senseless! Newbie: Um...okay (hands over Needler and receives a Shot). I would do anything to see that. Now, where is the option to double-like a post?
Well, I'm already overpowered as it is but that would just make it worse. Much much worse. It would be funny though to see three super players trade all their good weapons to one person in a 30-turn game and that guy just completely wrecks the place with every turn.
