the problem is that theres actually no 'clans' in ssl2. even if there is kchamp has to show that we are in a clan in the game. this would bring a lot of people to the forums. i somehow feel that ssl2 forums is kind of separate from the game. i dont know if @kChamp actually did this but:

    1. Advertise your products and forum
    2. Affiliating and Partnerships
    3.
Contests, put this in this forum and people will stay (ie cant say this enough, clans and clans operations, challenges, awards will boost the popularity (more) since ssl2 game has more people than the forums (unless you have some other ideas that could bring those players to here)

    lol.

This place ain't school to teach each person to respect each other and love each other, it's a social networking site, I mean there has to be some harsh contents included. Saying shitload amounts of swearing might get a warning, but saying poop or pee, chump, or stupid is. not. flaming. I mean some moderators had edited one of my posts when I was completely kind to Kendall and telling him the truth and the bad thing he's doing. that's not mini modding.
Clearly there have been enormous amounts of flaming post against each other and no mods had ever warned it.

As i said replied before, they not " harsh" words but they clearly offensive to the other person, if i let them like that the other person will probably reply to them and might lead to an argument in the thread so yes it was flaming post, the best solution was to me was to edit the post to avoid all that in a way that doesn't change the content. i don't think it was harmful to anyone, i took away the insults and let the post the way it should be ( no warnings, no arguments no talk back, nothing bad).

It may not be growing much, but what is the negative effect of having mods on at all times? I would like the forums to grow, and as it does grow, so will the need for mods.

i to think that there is one to many mod/admin. sure i wanted a few mods as well, but that was back then when there was only 3 and towel was AWOL. 1 or 2 more mods would have been enough to handle all the spam that was going on and clean up the forums

another thing, this might not fit in here but oh well, is that in game mods might not be such a good idea. saying you bought weapon packs and rims and all that good stuff. then you get banned for whatever reason. now you cant play and use whatever you paid for. why would someone restrict you from playing while this game requires you to pay to win

I'd like to thank those of you whom have been reporting spam bots, and to encourage all members to do so, it is a big help to making the forums better for everyone.

    Thanks again,

I have nothing bad to say about any of the mods....except that @Black Widow and @xvio are constantly taking away all of my fun with reading the jumbled up mess of a thread that the bots make and being able to report them! y'all are doing a great job, keep it up :)

I'm first going to reiterate I'm not going to disclose my ban too much, there is a time and a place for that, in a conversation.

Oh look I found our forums!
    mod feedback.gif

In all honestly, I was looking forward to the mods coming in, saving the day by banning the spam bots, and that would be that. I was a bit shocked to see we now have a dozen mods...but like kC said, the more the merrier...right??

But between the unnecessary editing of posts and the uncalled for bans, I think this should be a learning experience for all of us, and the current mods should feel grateful kChamp chose them to rid us of spam bots, but I think it was a good test of character, and should be a good example of a trial run at being mod.
EDIT: And should provide a good test for who should be chosen as in-game mod. So far I don't think any forums mods should be in-game mods, simply because of the fact they play, they're humans and have feelings.

I'm not one to bite the hand that feeds, by demanding mods, then turning around and saying we shouldn't have them. (although I'm sure we can all agree we have more than enough mods now) But the goal was achieved, ridding the spam bots, and now we have mods that don't have anything to do, so they scour the forums in search of things to edit or delete, for what they think is living up to their self-fulfilling prophecy of being a mod.

I also want everyone to know that I'm not posting this as bitter resentment after my recent ban, but am a little curious as to if this thread was created partly because of it? It seems to me like some people were questioning the mods' judgement, which is totally okay in my opinion, although it is clear some people like to follow the judgement of those above them blindly. (which, I'm sorry to say is pretty pathetic, even for a forums such as this)

    Well here's my moderator feedback:
You guys/gals have your tasks, you now have the power to moderate the forums as you see fit, I can't disagree with that, but you don't have to be complete bureaucrats about it.
Another thing is there is biased feelings that the people now in power have, no denying that at all. Just thought I'd point that out.

    That is my feedback.

I have to say... I agree with this part a lot. None of the new mods were really given any direction as to how to be a moderator. No buttons were explained to me, no rules to go by, no set of standards of what is acceptable by the rules and what is not. I can't speak for the others, but I know that I have been this "bureaucratic" mod that you speak of when I first started to help.

Thinking that this forums is going to be edited into the standards of the mods and what they want posts to say really is not good. I suppose there is a learning curve for everything and each should try to only take care of blatantly offensive posts or spambots- and things of the like.

    Nice post. Constructive criticism.

Oh look I found our forums!
I just like to comment on this Image.
    1) That guy with the mustache and awesome hair perfectly represents Shess. Walks in when he wants and deals anything he wants randomly.
    2) The man representing a mod is hilarious and pretty much does represents a mod. We say something smart after a person is dealed with.
    3) An old lady represents again perfectly represents a lowly user that has to pretty much watch their every move in the fear judgement might be coming.(Sorta a lie cause some users have 10+ warnings, even a mod and no one cares)

I'd like to say that I agree with everything Tank stated and this image made my day. I just watch and keep my opinion mostly to myself on things lie this cause everyone thinks they can answer it better than someone else. Btw the mod pictured makes me think of BuyingTime some reason.

This absolutely blows my mind. Back when I moderated/admin'd the forums and clans for TapTap Revenge, I spent hours and hours writing up revisions of the forum rules, regulations, instructions for mods, "orientation" threads with lists of commands and responsibilities for mods, etc. We ran a tight ship with extremely thorough guidelines complete with almost every scenario that was faced in the past as a reference to the mods. It baffles me that there's nothing like that for you guys on here. Makes me almost want to offer to do that, but it'd be better for a mod or admin to do it. I'm a professional drafter if anybody needs it made or revised, though! ( @********** )

Its nice most are reading this and keeping to themselves.(Those who posted make some good points) While theres always a place and time to say what you will about someone. Its best to keep it in your mind. I mean quite a number of people can read through something and only get out of it what they want, whether that's ignoring facts plainly written or living within their own reality of how they perceive things.

I'm actually reading and learning from this thread, i saw people complained when i edited an offensive/flaming post without changing the content of it, so i didn't do it again ( trying to take the advice ) tho i still see it the right action, but if people want so... i saw someone few days ago ( one of the persons complained about editing ) saying " F**king " without the censoring, it's clearly against the rule ( no swearing ) i didn't take any action tho, just watched what other moderators would do, few minutes later someone reported it, which was the right call, i saw other mods discussing either it deserve warning or not, and surprisingly they decided not to, even that swearing against the rules, however they just edited it which was i would originally do but was afraid that someone says " he abuses his power " or " unnecessary editing " , so the point here don't use swear language and don't insult anyone, and no one from the staff member will ever edit ur posts.
    -----------------------------------
About the spam bots they still here and spamming the same way as before, people may think they gone because of how fast they get banned but yea they still exist, also i don't understand how having certain number of staff members ( not all moderators ) harming the community in anyway ? maybe because it get crowded at staff members online area ( at US rush hour ) ?, some of us actually can hide their status if that gonna make the people here feels any better about having certain number of staff member.
    ---------------------------------
Keep the feed back and the criticism going, it really helps me to understand what people actually want and expect from a moderator ( semi-moderator )
Have a nice day yall :)

I'm gonna try to break this down a bit, as a message not to you, but to all mods.
I think necessary editing is something that can be done, here is my example:
Someone breaks the rules, a mod can very easily go on that thread, and tell the user what they did wrong and if it happens again their comment(s) may be removed or edited. I don't think it needs to happen with every little swear word though, but if two or comments contain rule-breaking themes, then I think it's time for the mod to come in. And then after the person has been alerted of the fact the mods are watching, if they continue to break the rules on that thread, they should by all means receive a convo'd warning and a flagged post. That might just be my option of how these things should work out though.

Most of us are aware the mods are working 24/7 to ban the spam bots, all people are saying it shouldn't take 12 people to do it. However I think if some mods reserved their power for just banning spam bots, and if no other mods are around, dealing with reports and dishing out warnings, is completely acceptable.

Glad to see this thread is getting active again, especially with people searching for constructive criticism :)

There is a lot of spam still now, people don't see it cause basically there is always a mod online who can delete it immediately. Look at the picture of closed reports (I red covered non spam-related posts):

    Immagine.png

And this is possibile because there are enough mods from different time zones who check regularly forums.

Honestly, I don't understand why having "too many" mods would be a problem for the forum; really, I don't see it, maybe it would be useless but I definitely believe it's not an issue.

I would like to know why these spammers are called "bots". Surely they are members of the SSL2 community as much as I hate to say it. Why call them bots? Isn't that a term refering to robots? (Off-topic)
