Good questions. I wouldn't advise testing though. I've had one experience of 2012 and a bumper. An asteroid hit it and nearly killed me after flying across the screen.

Forgot to mention here, if you are looking for a perfectly flat bumper change the quality to Very Low. That way it's very easy to compare the flat ones with slightly angled ones.

I've always wanted to try tht, but I always get SLIGHTLY angled bumpers...
