I have been playing SSL for a while now and I have noticed how there are people with rulers in the game. I think that it's a good idea for the hosts to be able to delete the ability of having the aiming coordinates that you have when aiming at other players. For people with rulers this will cause them not know where to aim their shot and make their ruler useless. If you have any questions please message me thanks.
And you'd also want to remove the tickings so people can't still count the ticks until they have the right angle.
it's been years that SSL has aim numbers,You can't remove it like that just beacause there are(even if there are really much) noobs that use ruler.I'm agree if you put that as a game mode but if you remove it totaly well I would personaly leave SSL cause 50% of my shots are based on angle numbers calculation.I think that there are much more ways to solve the problem of ruler users
If u remove it rulers will still exist. Point your angle at 90 and if the angle u want to aim at is 80 press the appropriate arrow key 10 times
1. It's not too hard to aim without coordinates if you're moderately skilled. 1st turn on ssl2 for example. It's also how this version was at the very beginning, dunno for how long but I know there were no coordinates 1st week at least. (Finished all of singleplayer with it like that within 100 mission attempts) 2. As a lobby option, why not? If you need coordinates, be host, keep them on. It doesn't hurt anything if it's just an option. Seriously, what's the problem? 3. Ticks? Sure, just like 1st week, it's possible to miscount/misclick though and be forced to either chance it or restart/recount, wasting time. At larger distances ya better be certain. Not really possible if a quicker turn timer is added too, though that's not an actual point yet. 4. @Rum, If it gives a boost to xp it'd be used. (I'd use it either way tbh, ez winz) 5. It doesn't HAVE to be added just as a ruler-blocker, it's fun(imo), just play it anyway.
There is a reason math is listed in it's genres, you're supposed to use the coordinates. I do not condone rulers and ultimately think it is unnecessary because you can easily learn how to calculate your aim in your head. I'm sure many pros would agree with me. As an option? Sure it'd be fun. Certainty is taken away with the coordinates making it more difficult, and thus more fun.
Ruler users don't bug me, what bugs me is being accused of using it for arcing a simple shot, Even though i use coordinates for a lot of my shots, i'm down for a mod without coordinates... As long as it gives good XP multiplier of-course.
