    just enable steam overlay in-game, anytime you want to check the forums while in-game, just shift + tab and then you should be fine

    Just pull up Task Manager and watch your Memory to see if you are doing too much at once.

    Also, Alt-Tab won't lag for everyone.

    Also, Windowed Mode would easily fix this.
