In long deathmatch-type games, dead players - even live players - can get pretty bored when a game seems to be getting nowhere. This thread is to suggest some ways in which Sudden Death can be implemented into games without having too much of an impact on XP gain. Sudden Death could trigger if no tanks have died in the past n rounds, or it could be based on a game timer (like Worms). Life Drain: Tanks lose 10hp per round until a tank dies. This effect can't kill tanks; it will always stop at 1hp. Closing Walls (Suggestion from [fish] Roltabol): Walls begin to close in from the sides, either damaging or killing tanks. Earthquakes happen every round, so that low-track tanks aren't completely screwed. True Sudden Death: All tank hp is reduced to one. (Maybe this shouldn't be a thing in single or team shot lol) Increasing Damage: Everyone's damage increases per round (x1.1, x1.2 etc). Increasing Explosion Size: Everyone's explosion sizes for every weapon increases per round. Water Rising (worms lol): Water rises from the bottom of the map, either damaging or destroying tanks.
I personally enjoy it when games go longer than usual; however, for those who can get bored when games go over 25+ turns, I can understand how Sudden Death could be an option/mod that the host could choose, but I feel like it shouldn't be a element that you can't change.
Aye, of course this could be turned on/off via pre-game settings menu. Maybe a random sudden death event could happen when it's triggered, if turned on.
