Game modes: Master thread

    There have been many stray threads about game modes that people think would be nice to have added, so here is a thread where all your game mode ideas can be brought to. I may make this thread a sticky depending on how many people decide to post in here.

    Format:
    name:*name of mode*
    characteristics: *what does your mode do, why is it important?*
    other:*any other things you would like to add about your mode*

    I will start off with a few

    name: Kill Confirmed
    characteristics: once you kill an enemy they will leave dog tags where they died and you must collect their tags.
    other: it might be a nice option for them to re-spawn a few times when they die and have the game go up to 3-9 dog tags instead of 1-3(depending on how many people). First team to collect the chosen amount of dog tags wins!
    other: N/A

    name: gun game
    characteristics: this mode would not have a set amount of turns like points. The creator can choose how many weapons they would like in the game. Say the creator chooses 15 weapons, then when you start the game the weapons in your weapon box would have numbers 1-15 (everyone is given the same weapons in the same order, weapons are chosen randomly). The game mode would make you use the weapons in order from 1-15 and you have to use that weapon every turn until you get a hit with it.The first person to use all their weapons wins!
    other: there could be a checkmark put next to the weapon after you use it.

    Yes they are. There had to be modifications to them for them to work for this game.

    Name: Slayer

    Characteristics: It would be a Free For All, but the first to do a set amount of HP Damage wins. It can be set as all shot or indi shot. No armor is activated, at all. Everyone's HP is set to 45% of the goal, meaning if the goal is 300, then their HP is 135 each. If a tank takes enough damage to die, then he misses 1 round, then re spawns in a random place, with 80% of his original score.

    Lemme rephrase. The game is called Slayer, and it would be a Free for All setting, the winner is the first to do a set HP damage, no armor is activated for anybody. Everone's initial HP is set to 45% of the goal, meaning if the goal is 300, my beginning (and everyone else's) set HP is 135. If a tank takes enough damage to die, he then misses one round, and respawns in a random place, with 80% of my original score, say for example, my score was 235, before I died. Then I died, and when I respawned, 80% of the initial scores would come back, meaning I re spawned with 188 points.

    Does that work? ._.

    well since we were talking about cod, how about something like survival/zombie mode?

    name: Survival
    characteristics: you start off with full hp and armor, and say 5 (or 10) weps, and 10 sec to move. Then a computer controlled tank, with 50hp would come continually moving slowly from a random side of the screen towards you. it will be only able to shoot once it comes close enough to you (a nukes radius maybe). once you kill it the wave would be over, and your hp but not your armor will be restored and you would get 5 (or ten) more weps and 10sec to move and get boxes or whatever before the next wave begins. the number of enemies per wave, their hp, speed, shooting abilities (weps, range, accuracy etc.) will be improved/increased as progress. game ends when die.
    other: shields could be used but only for a certain amount of time (10 sec?) xp would be based on dmg taken/dealt, kills, and waves accomplished. a team version could also me possible.

    I'm not sure we really need a sticky regarding game modes as it's not something that can be easily mass produced like weapons, and hasn't even been played with at all in this game with the only modes being points and deathmatch, but whatever I won't spoil your fun.

    But this does remind me, I need to update my masterlist of suggestions.

    Ok, been waiting for something like this to turn up.
    Here we go! Feel free to expand on any of these ideas.

    Name: Darkness

    Characteristics: On the first round, the map is lit. After the Pre-Game movement turn is over, the map turns completely dark, with the exception of on-screen elements such as the aim circle and lower HUD. Every time a tank fires, the map is lit up for a very brief period, in which you have to memorize the position of other tanks on the map. During your movement turn, the area inside your aim circle is lit. ...This sounded like a much better idea in my head. This will need a lot of tweaking, this is just a (very)rough idea of how it would work.

    Name: Health Drain

    Characteristics: Half of all damage dealt to enemies is added to the player's own health. No armor is drained. Health cannot exceed the starting amount.

    Name: Randomized Weapons

    Characteristics: Self explanatory. Every turn, a random weapon is given to each living player. Item crates will not spawn.

    Name: Master Mode

    Characteristics: The Aiming Reticle (the circle around your tank) is gone. The values for angle and power will be displayed above your tank.
    Numeric values for Health, and Fuel are removed. All Items are disabled. No Item Crates will spawn. Traction is set to 10. Fuel is set to 10. Armor is completely removed, as well as damage reduction.
    Every turn, the values for Angle and Power will be reset, to prevent a player from "Locking On" to an enemy.

    Name: Death from above

    Characteristics: Each turn has a random chance to have a a Shot, Heavy Shot, or Massive Shot fall from the top of the screen, in a random location on the map.
    If Shots spawn, then 4 will spawn. If Heavy Shots spawn, then 2 will spawn. If a Massive Shot spawns, then only one will spawn.

    I don't really have a name for this mode yet... suggestions are welcome.
    Characteristics: One tank will have 2X health, and 2.5X armor. This tank will also have 2X damage, and wil take 50% damage from enemies.
    All other tanks will have 1.2X health, 1.5X armor, and deal 1.5X damage.

    These are just rough ideas... I'll refine some and come up with some more soon.

    Characteristics: You start with HP and armor. You have no weapons and it is FFA You only have 10 seconds to move and once it doesn't let you move anymore these circles will appear in the ground, 5 seconds later asteroids will come down and will hit where the circles are.
    Other: You cannot use any items.

    So, you have to hope you don't get hit? Because that dosen't make much sense if you can't move while the circles have been shown. :p
